While visiting the beach's shrine, Phoenix and Pearl run into Maya and learn that the shell she gave Pearl was something she received from Mia when she first took her to the beach, leading Pearl to feel even more guilty. Upon discovering that the shell was actually a bowl from a ramen shop, Phoenix offers Pearl one as a replacement, but Pearl decides to stick with the one she has due to the memories it contains.
