14 أكتوبر 1981Ataru discovers he's been chosen to fight an invading alien force's champion in a 10-day game of tag, in which if the humans lose the aliens will invade Earth. If he wins, on the other hand, the aliens will go home. Ataru isn't at all willing to play tag until he sees the alien's champion: the beautiful Lum. Lum's Stormtroopers try to summon Lum's UFO but instead they get an intergalactic taxi that takes them though subspace that costs the value of all the oil on the planet. 28 أكتوبر 1981Lum's handsome ex-fiancé Rei arrives on earth to win her back but succeeds only in winning the attention of every other woman on Earth (including Ataru's mother). 4 نوفمبر 1981Lum and Ten meet a vicious little boy riding a flying bear who came from the sky and is now lost. Ataru and Shinobu identify him as the legendary Kintarou. Ataru convinces Kintarou and his teacher - with his alien classmates in tow - to visit Earth on a field trip. While there, Kintarou leans of the ancient legend of Kintarou from Japanese folklore. 18 نوفمبر 1981Ataru runs away from home, unable to stand the pressure of living with Lum, and bumps into a beautiful lady named Sakura, who takes him to her shrine for exorcism. Sakura gets a job as the nurse at Ataru's school. All the boys deliberately injure themselves so they can go see her, except Ataru, who oddly wants to avoid her.

25 نوفمبر 1981Lum interferes with Ataru and Shinobu's phone call using equipment in her UFO, inadvertently creating a black hole that causes aircraft to vanish. 2 ديسمبر 1981Cherry gives Ataru some magical yellow ribbons which, when tied on Lum's horns, negates her ability to fire electric shocks. Lum makes a voodoo doll to mess with Ataru. At first they decide to make more and use them to get revenge on the people they don't like, but Lum makes a doll of Shinobu and Ataru tries to stop Lum from using it to hurt her.
