Miki confronts Umibozu to read aloud, prompting Xiang Ying to follow her to an abandoned underground arcade. A flashback reveals Miki’s mother, Sato, dying in the snow. Ryo and Xiang Ying question locals about Miki’s background before learning she was struck by a car. At the clinic, they discover Miki has been waiting for her mother’s return. After Xiang Ying calms her distress, Miki returns to her quarters, where she suddenly sees Kaori appear before her eyes.
