After Xiang Ying passes out at a bar, Kaori advises Joy to seek protection from Ryo. Ryo subsequently reveals that the king has been replaced by a double, eliminating the danger to Joy. Joy then brings Ryo to the dilapidated Bar Jonathan, where he learns the king met Miki's mother, Sato, there six years ago. This discovery links the king, Sato, and Miki. Consequently, Joy decides to return home and gives Miki a locket containing strands of the late king's hair. She promises to return in the future once both have forgotten their former loves.
