Atsumu blames himself for Menma's death, prompting her to reveal secrets only she and Atsumu know. Chiriko discusses Atsumu's obsession, leading to a flashback of his rejected confession ten years ago after Jinta left. Jinta questions his lack of focus on Menma's wish, while Tetsudou suggests Menma cannot ascend to Heaven, which upsets her. Naruko goes to a karaoke bar with friends but is forced into a love hotel by a boy. Atsumu arrives just in time to save her. On the train ride home, Atsumu asks Naruko about her feelings for Jinta, leaving her conflicted about whether she truly likes him.
