Shiemi calms Rin, allowing Arthur Auguste Angel to capture him and Shura, while Mephisto faces a treason trial at the Vatican. Yukio reveals to his classmates that he and Rin are Satan’s sons; most offer support, but Konekomaru and Nemu remain distant. Yukio and Ryuji travel to Kyoto to consult Yoshikuni XI, a descendant of the swordsmith who forged Kurikara. They search an old temple for iron sand temple nails required for the blade, resisting statues that urge them to kill Rin. Meanwhile, the Grigori—Melchior, Samyaza, and Casper—listen to Mephisto’s argument that Rin must confront Satan. Their discussion is interrupted by an enraged Amaimon, who bursts in demanding to fight Rin again.
