A crow-like demon called a gufu attacks Rin and Izumo until Yukio intervenes. Mephisto directs the Exwires to inspect school barriers for breaches. The creature exploits Konekomaru’s fears to possess him and target Rin. Classmates stop Rin from harming Konekomaru, unaware of the supernatural threat. Shura discovers a hidden door leading to an abandoned laboratory in a snowy forest. Ryuji observes Konekomaru’s heart failing in the hospital as the gufu pursues Rin. Rin defeats the monster to save Konekomaru. Feeling ashamed, Konekomaru plans to leave the academy. Rin convinces him to stay, helping him reconcile with his classmates.
