Ep. 1: Hajime's group rescues a mana-overloaded noble in the Gruen Desert.

Disheartened by Kaori’s confession and departure, Kouki returns to the castle while Hajime’s party travels the Gruen Desert. They defeat Sand Worms and rescue Bize Feuward Zengen, son of the Duke of Ankaji. Bize suffers from a fatal mana overload condition, which Ankaji’s citizens also exhibit due to poisoned water supplies. Hajime and his companions decide to assist the afflicted residents. Meanwhile, General Freid of the Demon Army learns of Cattleya’s death and the destruction of the monster army, both caused by Hajime. Freid begins preparing for a battle to kill Hajime.
