Ep. 9: Koyomi and Suruga investigate a shrine ritual involving dismembered snakes and encounter Nadeko.

Koyomi and Suruga travel to an abandoned shrine to complete a task for Oshino. While ascending the mountain, they pass a girl who exchanges brief glances with them. At the shrine, they find dismembered snake corpses arranged in a ritualistic manner and promptly depart. The following day, Koyomi visits a bookstore with Tsubasa, who advises him to establish boundaries with Hitagi to preserve their relationship before leaving due to a sudden headache. Koyomi later recognizes the girl from the mountain as Nadeko Sengoku, a childhood friend of his sisters. He and Suruga intercept her at the shrine and bring her to Koyomi's home. There, Nadeko removes her clothes to reveal snakelike skin and begs Koyomi to save her.
