Takao, Max, and Kyojyu work on Dragoon to secure victory in the finals. Grandpa interrupts to reveal it is Takao's thirteenth birthday. After the party, Takao unexpectedly defeats Kai in the first round. Kai then easily defeats Takao in the second round. In the third round, Takao narrowly defeats Kai to become the National Beyblade Champion. Kaichou reveals to Takao, Kai, Max, Kyojyu, and Rei that they will form a team to participate in the World Championships.
