During the semifinals, Max competes against champion Kai, while Takao anticipates fighting undefeated Blader Rei. The match rules require a Bey to remain in the top for 10 seconds to win. Kai defeats Max in the first round using a Spin Fire attack. In the second round, Max utilizes a reverse launch to absorb the attack, causing his Bey to explode from energy overload. He discovers a Bit Beast named Draciel inside his grandmother's pendant, which then enters his Bey. Max engages in a fierce battle with Kai but ultimately loses. Takao encourages Max by reminding him of his new Bit Beast and his upcoming match against Rei.
