Asta volunteers as a test subject, but Sally requires magic users, prompting her to chase the other Bulls. Following bizarre experiments, she collects data and Asta’s hair, finding joy in creating helpful tools. Meanwhile, concerned about an Arandom Village in the Forsaken Lands, the Wizard King dispatches Fuegoleon, Nozel, and Marx to investigate bandit reports. The villagers, wary of the knights, invite them in after Fuegoleon mentions his friendship with Chronovala. When bandits attack that night, they are revealed to be the villagers themselves. Their leader, Mayer, explains they turned to crime due to poverty following the Midnight Sun’s destruction. Recognizing the Kingdom’s failure to support remote areas after the elves invasion, the knights order the villagers to help rebuild other settlements while providing funds and magic knights to assist them. The Wizard King praises their decision and the lesson learned about the citizens.

Alecdora Sandler, envious of Yuno’s reputation, attempts to surpass him. Yuno discovers Asta is celebrated in Saussy for halting a prior boar attack and defeating Heath Grice. While Alecdora demands the beasts killed, Yuno investigates their abnormal aggression, finding them consuming fruit tainted by dark mana. Removing the trees restores the boars, angering Alecdora. Vangeance then assigns a dungeon mission. Langris privately suggests Yuno would lead better than Alecdora. Inside, the team battles bandits led by a former magic knight wielding a vase that absorbs spells. The leader overwhelms Alecdora and nullifies the team’s magic. United, they strip his equipment, enabling Yuno to defeat him. Alecdora later admits Yuno’s crucial role and apologizes for his jealousy. During a meal, Yuno realizes he is finally making friends.

During the elf invasion, her family died, and her husband cursed her for being useless. Dazu later believed false rumors that Asta caused the attack. Kabwe Karyon, a subordinate of Damnatio, resents the six-month delay in executing Asta and Secre. Dazu and her friend Bou Nokude join Kabwe’s Devil Banishers, a group seeking revenge against devil’s servants and those formerly possessed by elf souls. They kidnap Marie, Gauche’s sister, injuring Neige in the process. The group then attacks the Bulls hideout, knocking Asta and Secre unconscious with gas. When Noelle arrives, they escape with only Secre. Noelle tends to Asta while Gauche discovers Marie is missing.

During the pursuit, Yami observes that the Believers recruit villagers with weak magic. Asta, Noelle, and Magna follow them across the border into the Spade Kingdom, catching up to the Believers, who have recruited hundreds of members.
