Kariya employs the wind Messer to generate electricity and strike Ichigo. Although Ichigo’s inner Hollow briefly takes control, he regains mastery, surprising his opponent. Ichigo explains that Rantao sealed his ability to absorb spirit particles for healing. The two engage in a decisive final battle that results in Kariya’s death.
