Amagai is branded a traitor by Yamamoto for aiding Ichigo, prompting orders for his capture. Captains Shunsui Kyouraku and Juushirou Ukitake request permission to investigate the Kasumiouji clan, but Yamamoto denies the request. Meanwhile, Renji and Ikkaku Madarame clash with lieutenants Tetsuzaemon Iba and Shuuhei Hisagi regarding differing views on Ichigo and Rukia's actions. Kira infiltrates the Kasumiouji compound and encounters Lurichiyo, only to be attacked by multiple assassins. After defeating them, one assassin escapes with Lurichiyo, leading to a confrontation when Kibune arrives to fight the fugitive. This segment is part of the New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc.
