During a mission alongside Rangiku to combat sword beasts, Haineko meets Narunosuke, a creature whose master fled to allow him to grow stronger. Defying the belief that these beasts inevitably lose control, Haineko befriends Narunosuke by secretly providing food and medicine. However, her fears prove correct as Narunosuke gradually loses his mind and body to the beast's influence. When Rangiku arrives to eliminate the threat, Haineko attempts to intervene. Ultimately, she is forced to destroy Narunosuke herself as he becomes too dangerous to contain. This event occurs within the Beast Swords arc.
