Kyouraku assigns Nanao to accompany the kunoichi bodyguard of Katen Kyoukotsu to locate a sword beast, while he enjoys sake with the mistress. Nanao observes the bodyguard playfully engaging a bearded sword beast rather than defeating it, causing Nanao significant concern and leading her to restrain the woman. With Rangiku’s assistance, Nanao attempts to bond with the kunoichi through various methods, eventually planning a cherry blossom party. Nanao notices the bodyguard’s interest in flowers, pinning one to her hair. When the bearded sword beast returns and injures Nanao’s arm, the bodyguard is left defenseless after dropping her weapon near a tree but remains determined to fight. Kyouraku arrives to defeat the beast. Later, the kunoichi reciprocates the gesture by pinning a cherry blossom to Nanao’s hair during the party.
