Ichigo and Ulquiorra engage in a balanced final battle where Ichigo lands a slight wound on his opponent. Ichigo speculates that he is becoming more like a Hollow or Ulquiorra is becoming more human, a theory that infuriates Ulquiorra. Simultaneously, Yasutora Sado and Renji Abarai battle a massive Hollow named Battikaroa in the Hueco Mundo desert. They discover its weakness and secure victory by destroying its head after fracturing its body. Back in a Las Noches tower, Orihime Inoue shields Ichigo from a near-fatal strike by Ulquiorra. This segment covers the second part of the Arrancar: Downfall arc.
