Ichigo battles Ulquiorra while Loly Aivirrne and Menoly Mallia confront Orihime. Menoly refuses to harm Orihime, citing her healing abilities, so Loly tortures her alone. Yammy Riyalgo interrupts, killing Menoly and wounding Loly after Ulquiorra blocks his challenge. Orihime heals Loly, who summons her zanpakutou, Escolopendra, displaying skeletal tentacles. Yammy punches Loly through a wall, leaving her for dead, then targets Orihime, who defends herself with Santen Kesshun. Meanwhile, Rukia Kuchiki fights Rudbornn Chelute and the Exequias, while Chad and Renji defeat other hollows. Uryuu Ishida arrives with Ginrei Kojaku, breaking through the tower wall to assist Ichigo and rescue Orihime.
