An attacker stabs an incomplete Hollow and demands its cooperation. Ichigo returns home to resume his daily life. Chad tries to persuade Ichigo to join Xcution, arguing that Ichigo desires the power to protect his loved ones. While walking through town, Ichigo spots the attacker and gives chase but encounters his younger sister, Yuzu Kurosaki. A Hollow attacks them, but Ginjou intervenes and eliminates the threat. Consequently, Ichigo returns to Xcution and accepts their offer. Ginjou then returns Ichigo's Substitute Shinigami badge to him. This segment is part of The Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, specifically episode 5 out of 23.
