Ep. 90: Renji Abarai Unleashes His Bankai Against the Threat of Gesell

Ichigo and Renji discover a living Yumichika inside a cave while Ugaki summons the true form of Gesell, a large black humanoid creature. After Gesell throws Yumichika toward them, Renji catches his friend and deploys his bankai to fight the monster, causing Ugaki to lose control of his doll. Ugaki begs Kariya for help, but Kariya refuses and watches as Gesell collapses the cave onto Ugaki. Ichigo escapes the debris and encounters Kariya and the other Bounts. Ichigo begins fighting Kariya, who handles him effortlessly. Kariya reveals their true goal is not to connect the human world to the world of the dead, but to the Soul Society to destroy the Soul Reapers who created the Bounts.
