Izuru Kira organizes a kite-flying event that devolves into a chaotic competition across squad divisions, despite his efforts to control it. Meanwhile, Rukia prepares for a ceremonial dance her late sister performed years ago, feeling inadequate about her skills. Renji Abarai attempts to assist her, but she becomes angry and dismisses him after he accidentally stains her kimono with ink. Upon receiving her sister's actual kimono, Rukia understands Renji's intention was to help her relax and reduce her anxiety. She sends him an apology letter, and he attends the dance, which ultimately proves to be a significant success for everyone involved.
