Ep. 4: Candy meets a mysterious prince in the hills while Annie cuts ties at her new home

Annie enjoys her new wealthy life but severs all contact with Pony's Home to hide her past from Mrs. Brighton. Heartbroken after a final letter, Candy wanders into the forest and encounters a handsome man in a kilt playing bagpipes. He tells her she is prettier when she smiles, then vanishes, leaving only a pendant with a small bell as proof of his existence. Meanwhile, a representative from the Leagan family of Lakewood visits Pony's Home to propose adopting Candy as a playmate for their daughter. Since Lakewood is near Jasper where Annie lives, and the car bears the same symbol as the pendant, Candy agrees to the adoption upon learning the family has a seventeen-year-old son.
