Ep. 8: Candy accompanies Eliza and Neil shopping, then meets Alistear Cornwell who drives her home in a dilapidated car.
Eliza takes Candy as a porter to town with Neil to purchase a new ballroom dress. After being left behind, Candy meets Alistear Cornwell, Archibald's brother, who offers her a ride home in a poorly maintained car. They travel through the forest by hopping between trees, arriving at the Leagan house much earlier than expected. Candy discovers that the former Ardley matron will reside in the Ardley estate and that a welcoming ball will be held. Both Alistear and Archibald send official invitations to Mr. Leagan. Ignoring Eliza's objections, Mr. Leagan commands her to provide a dress for Candy. Eliza gives one that is far too small. Dorothy comforts Candy, explaining that her behavior at the party matters more than wearing an expensive dress from Eliza's wardrobe.
