After Miena refuses to board a carriage, Candy escorts her on foot while Mr. McGregor’s health declines. Miena climbs into a specific carriage, prompting Candy to convince the driver to take them to the hospital. Candy accepts Franny’s criticism for her irresponsibility before sneaking Miena into Mr. McGregor’s room. Once Merry Jane and Dr. Frank leave, Candy wakes Mr. McGregor, who recovers quickly after interacting with the dog. He later enjoys a garden tour, feeling well enough to return home and viewing Candy as a friend. However, Mr. McGregor passes away peacefully while Candy gathers petals, realizing his death too late to intervene.
