Dr. Leonard grants Candy five days off, requiring her to deliver documents to Dr. Kreis in Florida. A woman asks Candy to watch her son, Gilbert, who harbors resentment toward medical staff due to his father's death from cancer. Gilbert steals the documents to avenge his father, claiming he discarded them. Candy prepares to jump from the train, but a conductor requests medical aid for a sick child, Carrie. Suspecting appendicitis, Candy assists a doctor aboard the train, who is an old rival of Dr. Leonard, in saving Carrie. Realizing his error, Gilbert returns the hidden documents to Candy.
