Aired on December 27, 2006

L convenes with Light and the detective team to test Light's analytical abilities by having him analyze confiscated audio recordings for clues in the reader's voice. Based on this analysis, L determines that Light is not Kira. Subsequently, the team broadcasts a recording created by L and Light to provoke a response from the second Kira, Misa Amane. Misa inadvertently discloses critical information regarding the Death Note and shinigami during her reply, causing Light to panic. In her message, Misa demands an in-person meeting with the first Kira. The investigation team is shocked and devises a plan to pursue this new lead, while Light contemplates his next move.
