Detective Touta Matsuda and Light travel to Aoyama to investigate a journal entry date. Light aims to identify the Second Kira and hides his identity from the shinigami following Misa by having friends accompany them. Misa, having sold her shinigami eyes, realizes Light Yagami is Kira because his lifespan is invisible. She confirms this to the investigation team, prompting them to broadcast a message condemning Kira as a murderer and offering leniency for information. Misa disregards the broadcast, locates Light, and confesses that she found him because she loves him.
