Hakumen Fudo attempts to bring Dororo to the Fudo Myo shrine, but refuses to sacrifice her to her master. Demon Lord Fudo summons a storm to kill them both. Hakumen Fudo urges Dororo to flee, but Dororo stays. Hakumen Fudo sacrifices herself to protect Dororo, only for mountain dogs to attack the girl. Meanwhile, Nota drifts downriver and is discovered by Hyakkimaru and Zato. Nota guides them to the shrine, allowing Hyakkimaru and Zato to rescue Dororo and defeat the dogs. Hyakkimaru cuts off the statue's head, revealing it is merely a rock covered in mold. As they depart, Dororo floats an offering downstream for Hakumen Fudo.
