Samurai Kageyuki Tokino relies on his horse Midoro for success, but he sells her newborn foal when she slows down. Hyakkimaru purchases the foal for Dororo, leaving Midoro heartbroken. She breaks free and transforms into a ferocious, demon-possessed beast that sets the city ablaze and kills Kageyuki. Dororo refuses to believe Midoro is possessed, but Hyakkimaru eventually slays the horse, destroying the demon in the process. Both Hyakkimaru and Dororo are saddened by her death.
