Dororo discovers a village where the headman hoards food and feigns being a demon. The monster Donburibara forces the headman to overeat, entering his navel to drain his nourishment. Hyakkimaru arrives and starves the headman, causing Donburibara to depart. He tracks the creature to its source, a giant tortoise. Dororo gathers the villagers to assist Hyakkimaru in killing the demon. Upon its death, Hyakkimaru recovers his second eye, marking the defeat of the 28th demon.
