Hyakkimaru and Dororo travel with Gorobei Tawara, a physically strong samurai who initially denies the existence of demons. Upon entering a deserted village, Hyakkimaru senses a supernatural presence as strange events unfold, including blood dripping from ceilings, moving furniture, collapsing houses, and attacks by cats and crows. Despite Gorobei’s skepticism, Hyakkimaru locates the threat at a silver vine tree, where a skeletal demon emerges. After defeating the creature, Hyakkimaru regains his ears. The experience convinces Gorobei of the reality of demons, leading him to part ways with the duo to continue his own path.
