Ep. 9: Senku creates dynamite to force surrender while Tsukasa reveals his motivation to revive his sister Mirai.

During the battle between Kohaku’s group and Tsukasa alongside Hyoga, Senku, Gen, and Chrome work to produce gunpowder. Chrome extracts sulfuric acid from a tank, which is combined with nitric acid and glycerin from soap to create nitroglycerin and subsequently dynamite. This development causes Tsukasa’s men to surrender. Tsukasa and Senku discuss the former’s desire for a pure world, revealing his motivation stems from his younger sister Mirai. A flashback shows Mirai was declared clinically brain dead and entered a coma, prompting Tsukasa to become a boxer to protect her. Senku proposes a truce in exchange for reviving Mirai. The group travels to the site of her former hospital, where Tsukasa reiterates his unchanging goals despite his regrets. Finally, Senku and his crew excavate Mirai from the ground.
