Bulma and her companions search for the Dragon Balls to resurrect the spectators Vegeta killed, encountering a large dragon during the quest for the final ball. Piccolo and Krillin leave Goten and Trunks with Dende and Mr. Popo before joining Goku, who learns of the crisis. Goku admits he lacks the strength to defeat Buu but reveals knowledge of Fusion, a method allowing two similarly built fighters to merge into one powerful entity. Although he initially intended to fuse with Gohan or Vegeta, Mr. Popo informs him that Goten and Trunks possess similar sizes, making them suitable candidates for this technique.
