After the Dragon Radar is destroyed, Goku instructs Trunks to travel to West City to recover the device from Capsule Corporation. Meanwhile, Goku remains behind to delay Majin Buu and Babidi. To buy Trunks sufficient time, Goku gathers a massive amount of energy, a process that consumes part of his remaining time on Earth. He then undergoes a transformation into Super Saiyan 3. The sheer power of this ultimate form is so intense that it can be felt even in the world of the Kais. This strategic move allows Trunks to retrieve the radar while Goku holds off the villains.
