Aired on November 23, 2004

Cooks and Hollingworth travel to Clairmont to listen to a recording of scientist Radcliffe’s diary. Radcliffe’s grandfather found a strange black stone at the 1901 death scene of Befort's Children and gave it to Radcliffe, who used X-rays to find shifting inscriptions. The GED Project investigated, but Radcliffe learned the British government knew of the Children and chased their history across Europe. Records trace them to a Belgian village from 1489. Obsession drove Radcliffe mad, leading to his discrediting and death. Meanwhile, the Children regroup at Clairmont. Hasmodai is trapped by family memories until Agi returns his memory recording. The other Children disapprove, yet Hasmodai considers abandoning their quest.
