Ep. 19: Miaka is captured while Tasuki and Chichiri hide, and Tamahome acts coldly toward her.
Soldiers capture Miaka as Tasuki and Chichiri hide in the palace. Yui speaks coldly to Miaka about Tamahome, while Nakago claims Tamahome is under care. Miaka escapes the dungeons with Tamahome’s help, but Yui confronts her, declaring she will never forgive her. Tamahome enters, pushes Miaka away, and strikes her with nun-chucks, acting coldly toward her but softening toward Yui. He orders soldiers to take Miaka away, leaving a ribbon behind that he secretly keeps. Nakago orders Tamahome to kill Miaka, Tasuki, and Chichiri. Miaka refuses to leave, and Nakago appears, leading her to a post where Chichiri and Tasuki are tied. Nakago threatens to kill Miaka, but it is revealed to be Chichiri in disguise, with the captive Chichiri being an illusion. Miaka hides the truth about Tamahome’s behavior. Chichiri, disguised as Nakago, leaves to find Tamahome. Miaka outwits Tasuki, tying him back to the post, and returns to the tree to wait for Tamahome.
