Ep. 16: Miaka comforts Shouka while Juan Myou reveals his true identity as a Suzaku Seven member
Tamahome is captured and tortured by Nakago, while Hotohori seeks Juan Myou, who reveals Shouka died a year prior. Shouka attempts to kill Miaka, but Miaka persuades her to trust Hotohori. Upon returning, Hotohori, Nuriko, and Genro face possessed villagers. Juan Myou arrives with the group, and Shouka accuses him of abandonment, leading Miaka to deduce they were lovers. Miaka comforts Shouka, causing her to revert to normal, though a sickness demon emerges from her back. Shouka begs Juan to end her life, which he does, dispelling the possession and vanishing the house. Juan heals Miaka and reveals himself as Mitsukake, the sixth Suzaku Seven member and a healer. He explains he was called away when Shouka was dying and returned too late. Miaka notes Shouka’s peace and vows never to give up.
