Zombies board Air Force One, infecting the Chairman and President. The Chairman urges the President to launch ICBMs before turning. Takashi's group crosses a river, finding it empty, and changes into new weapons. They head toward Saya's house, encountering more zombies and a wire barrier that knocks Rei off the Humvee. The group struggles with unfamiliar combat and courage. Takashi and Saeko attempt to draw the horde away but fail. Just as the situation deteriorates, firefighters led by Yuriko Takagi provide assistance. Takashi and Saeko proceed along a separate path while the others receive aid from the rescue team.
