While Fujita waits at the airport for Sara’s flight from Mumbai, news breaks that the plane crashed into the sea. Ali from the Kerabian Embassy confirms Sara was on board. A week later, Mitamura finds Fujita distraught in his messy apartment. At a charity event, Fujita donates Everett Millais’s painting Ophelia, claiming Sara will reimburse him to deny her death. Both characters are deeply affected by the disappearance. However, Sara suddenly returns home, explaining she disembarked to buy a carpet and became stranded in Pakistan. Fujita criticizes the carpet’s quality but grudgingly accepts the gift, ending the ordeal.
