Wahlan dispatches his fleet to investigate activity within the Iserlohn corridor. Julian engages Admiral Wagenseil’s forces using strike craft and a tactical retreat, provoking the Imperial commander. This maneuver draws Wagenseil’s ships into the effective range of the Iserlohn Thor hammer cannon, resulting in significant losses. As the cannon recharges, Wahlan attempts a rear assault on the fortress. Merkatz exploits a blind spot to ambush Wahlan’s fleet, while Julian maneuvers around the fortress to complete a pincer formation. The Thor hammer fires twice more, inflicting severe damage on the encircled enemy forces. Meanwhile, Reinhard anticipates a counterattack from Phezzan but is confined to bed by a high fever.
