Reuenthal delegates domestic politics to Elsheimer and kills Trüniht after discussing ambitions and Reinhard. Elfriede von Kohlrausch visits with her baby, prompting Reuenthal to request her son be given to Mittermeyer. On November 14th, Space Calendar 800, New Imperial Year 2, Reuenthal dies at age 33. Mittermeyer arrives on Heinessen but misses his friend. Admiral Bergengrün, who served under Kircheis, commits suicide upon hearing of Reuenthal's death, having lost both commanders to political schemes. Lang confesses to his actions and implicates Rubinsky, who remains missing.
