Ep. 14: Yang Wen-li reveals the truth behind Bruce Ashbey's espionage network and defects
Yang Wen-li presents his investigation into the alleged murder of Free Planets Alliance war hero Bruce Ashbey to Alex Cazerne and Dusty Attemborough. Based on Christopf von Köfenhiller's research, Yang explains that Martin Otto von Siegmeister, aided by Christopf von Michaelsen, established a vast espionage network within the Galactic Empire to leak military secrets to the Alliance. After defecting, Siegmeister allied with Ashbey, who utilized the network to secure numerous battlefield victories. Following Ashbey's death at the Second Battle of Tiamat, the network collapsed, ending with Michaelsen's mysterious demise. Yang notes the full truth may remain unknown until both nations cease to exist. Days later, Yang accepts a new role as an Operations Staff Officer under the 8th Fleet and attends the wedding of Alex Cazerne and Hortense Milbelle before departing for the front lines.
