Ep. 16: Reinhard evades ambush and defies orders to save his ship from destruction

While patrolling the Iserlohn Corridor, the destroyer Hameln II is ambushed by a Free Planets Alliance squadron. The vessel is hit first, critically injuring Captain Lieutenant Commander Adenauer, who transfers command to the senior officer present, Reinhard von Müsel, before passing out. Reinhard immediately alters course to withdraw from the engagement. When First Officer Lieutenant Bertram arrives and demands he return to the original formation, Reinhard refuses due to the extreme danger. His decision proves correct as the remaining patrol unit is surrounded and annihilated. After guiding the ship to safety within a nearby asteroid field, Reinhard relinquishes command to Bertram. Bertram then orders Siegfried Kircheis to arrest Reinhard for mutiny.
