Ep. 17: Lieutenant Bertram's Suicide Plan and Reinhard's Mutiny to Escape Ambush

Lieutenant Bertram ignores enlisted soldier Schmidt’s astrophysics-based escape strategy, choosing instead to self-destruct the destroyer Hameln II to die honorably. Siegfried Kircheis, opposing this decision, frees Reinhard von Müsel from detention, initiating a mutiny with enlisted crew support to seize the bridge. Reinhard adopts Schmidt’s plan to use momentum from a predicted solar eruption for a high-speed escape. While the crew repairs engines for the eruption, Bertram breaks captivity and storms the bridge. A confrontation kills Rolf Zaidel. Lieutenant Commander Adenauer intervenes to prevent escalation, reiterating his order to transfer command authority to Reinhard, allowing the ship to proceed with the risky maneuver against the Free Planets Alliance ambush.
