A silver-haired infant with dead-fish eyes is left at the Odd Jobs office, bearing a note claiming paternity. Despite Gintoki’s resemblance to the child, his friends Shinpachi, Kagura, and Otose instantly adore the baby, named Kanshichirou. Convinced by their certainty, Gintoki panics and escapes with the infant to avoid responsibility. As he struggles to prove his innocence to those who refuse to listen, Kahei Hashida, head of a major financial combine, arrives seeking help. Hashida demands the Odd Jobs locate Ofusa, the woman who allegedly kidnapped his grandson. However, Otose detects suspicious elements in the situation, complicating Gintoki’s desperate attempt to clear his name while caring for the unwanted child.
