Gintoki and Nizou fight to the death on Takasugi's ship deck as the anti-battleship weapon Benizakura infiltrates Nizou's mind, causing him to lose control. Gintoki counters with a sword forged by Tetsuko, gradually gaining the upper hand against Nizou's overwhelming strength. Inside the ship, Takasugi intends to use Benizakura to overthrow the shogunate. However, his plans are interrupted by Tetsuya, the creator of Benizakura, his younger sister Tetsuko, and Katsura, who confront him regarding his ambitions. The intense external battle mirrors the internal political struggle as alliances shift and the outcome of the duel remains uncertain amidst the rising tension between the samurai and the shogunate forces.
