Katsura, a secret member of the Joi Faction, meets reporter Hanano from The Edo to discuss civic duty. The Shinsengumi, led by Okita, interrupts the meeting, forcing Katsura to flee. He reveals a corn potage-flavored Nmaibo from his kimono, claiming it serves as emergency rations. The Shinsengumi continues the chase, but Katsura throws the Nmaibo onto a roof. This action creates a smoke screen that allows Katsura and his companions to successfully escape their pursuers.
