Junior high student Yumiko, the daughter of a mistress, is forced to become the heir to the Tohin Railway Group after her brother dies. Her father orders Yuuji to act as her bodyguard and facilitate her abduction to force her return, but Yuuji disobeys and protects her instead. While sheltering from rain under a bridge, Yumiko shares her traumatic past with him. Enraged by this defiance, her father attempts to send her to study in America and shuts down her school. When Yumiko refuses to leave, her father confronts her in person. She shoots him, leading to a standoff. As his men breach the building after her ammunition is exhausted, Yumiko pulls a grenade pin and appears to die. Yuuji had actually helped her fake her death, allowing her to assume a new identity with a falsified family registry and resume her life as a student at the school.
