Ep. 5: Nagi’s Scheme and the Restaurant Debt Crisis
Frustrated by Maria’s constant scolding, Nagi tasks Hayate with finding a reason for her to reprimand the maid. Hayate encounters Yukiji, who invites him to lunch only to reveal she lacks funds. Simultaneously, Maria questions Mikado about Nagi’s father, learning that the man erased all records to hide his identity as a con artist targeting the Sanzenin fortune. At the restaurant, Ruri and Sonia arrive, ordering food and inflating the bill. As the group argues over payment, a thief enters, claiming he needs money for his sister’s medical care. Yukiji confronts the thief with a gun, but Hinagiku intervenes, mistaking her sister for the criminal. After the thief surrenders and Hinagiku departs, Hayate is left alone to cover the costs, eventually chasing Sonia to settle the debt.
