High School Fleet

A hundred years after tectonic shifts submerged much of Japan, the country has transformed into a maritime society. Coastal cities and sea routes are now protected by naval forces, and the marine industry is thriving. Young women aspire to join the Blue Mermaids, elite defenders of the seas. Akeno Misaki and Moeka China, childhood friends, reunite at Yokosuka Girls' Marine High School with others pursuing the same goal. Training begins, and Akeno and Moeka lead their own ships and crews. Akeno adapts well to her role as captain of the destroyer Harekaze, forming bonds with her crew. However, sudden engine and navigation malfunctions strand the ship, putting the crew at risk. The Harekaze's team must overcome these and other challenges as they work toward becoming Blue Mermaids.
